Clever is good. Useful beats clever. You need useful.

People often ask what The Village actually does. The honest answer is, it depends on the problem.

Clients rarely come to us saying,"We need a new brand or a new ad."

Instead they say, "Sales have stalled." "We're losing market share." "No one understands what we do." "We're struggling to attract the right people." "We're about to launch something important."

Those aren't branding problems. They're business problems. We solve them using strategy, branding, advertising, communications and culture.

The ‘Village’ part of our name recognises that the best solutions to those business problems rarely come from one person. They come from the right people working together.

How we work is deliberately flexible. Sometimes we work as an agency. Sometimes as a specialist team. Sometimes alongside an existing leadership team or agency.

The model changes, the goal doesn't: bring clarity and create something genuinely useful.

A note from The Village founder, Adam Lance

After more than 30 years in this industry, I've learned that the most valuable thing we can give a client isn't another idea.

It's clarity.

During that time, I've worked with startups, government organisations and global brands, won more than 100 national and international creative awards, and led an agency recognised as Creative Agency of the Year.

Those experiences taught me that the best work isn't always the ‘cleverest’.

It's the work that solves the real problem. That’s when it becomes useful.

‘Useful’ drives our approach..

Every project starts by understanding the real problem.

Sometimes that's strategy. Sometimes branding. Sometimes advertising. Sometimes communications.

Whatever the answer, the goal is always the same: to help organisations move forward by creating work that's genuinely useful.
